Scope and Contents

The collection contains assorted lesbian, gay, attracted to both genders, transgender and homosexual (LGBTQ) comic publications dealing with issues such as coming out, romantic and sexual relationships, depression, and gay and lesbian liberation. Some magazines appear to be self published while others are commercially published.

These manga and manga-style comics feature romantic or sexual relationships between men or teenage boys. Often called "Yaoi" or "Shounen-ai" (since the genre was initially popularized in Japan before spreading to other countries), although many fans simply point to to it as "BL" or "Boys Love". Titles on this list first debuted in their country of inception in 2020 and beyond.
